A turquoise façade, classic bistro décor, a home-style menu that changes daily, and a cellar built for discovery.
The place
L'Officine Paris sits in a 1900 pharmacy reimagined as a warm bistro. The venue keeps its character: turquoise doors, wood panelling, an old counter and a convivial atmosphere. People come for home-style French cooking, a short menu and a generous wine list.

Cuisine
Every day, chef Christophe Duparay shapes an indicative menu that evolves with deliveries and the moment's inspiration. Starters, mains, cheeses and desserts change regularly to keep pace with freshness and home-made craft.

In this corner former pharmacy on Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, now a gourmet bistro, creative "apothecaries" concoct preparations that are not those of "big pharma" — just wholesome, seasonal home cooking in a warm retro-traditional setting. The intangible menu, with appetising yet flexible titles, allows ingredients to shift with the seasons. Thus the house terrine (€8.50), which may be pork, game, or drawn from a seafood charcuterie recipe — like a pollack terrine that is pale, fresh and iodine-scented, opening the appetite with delicacy. The seasonal gazpacho (€7.50) may, on a hot summer day, swap tomato for watermelon juice and pair with a silky poached egg, another of the chef's starters. Christophe, an experienced chef from Saône-et-Loire, stages plates generous and full of flavour, such as veal flank with cider oyster mushrooms and sautéed potatoes (€25), or market fish — perhaps sea bream on spinach with verbena oil and rice. His inspiration does not dry up at dessert: his Trou de l'Apothicaire (€10) is worth exploring for its poppy from Nemours and violet ice cream. For nibblers, L'Officine also offers well-sourced charcuterie boards such as Linard sausage (€12.50) and raw-milk cheeses (€11) — ideal alongside cuvées chosen by Jean-Baptiste, the owner turned ardent priest of Bacchus. The fine Tripoz crémant from Burgundy he offers as an opener sets the tone of his enthusiasm. His shelves are well stocked with independent and renowned grower bottles, with occasional surprises such as a Domaine Gayda cuvée named La Prescription… not sure that one is reimbursed by social security.
